Our school

Richmond Hill State School is located in Charters Towers and was established in 1895.

Our school has a strong and proud history of teaching and learning, valuing parents and the community and embracing new technologies to enrich student preparation for today and beyond.

Our core values at Richmond Hill State School embrace Respect, Excellence, Productive Partnerships, Accountability and Safe Environments. Our school mission 'Everyone Successful Every Day' embraces the key actions of Getting Along, Confidence, Organisation, Persistence and Resilience of our ‘You Can Do It Education’ keys to success. Creating a school culture of caring relationships, mutual respect with safe and motivated learners engaged and striving to own their learning and to improve,  is achieved by working together as a school family.

Strong supportive relationships between school, staff, parents and the broader community is a tradition that has been forged year after year to nurture parental involvement and community engagement through the weekly Richie Rockets and Rainbows Playgroup, Aboriginal Liaison Officer Support, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Parent Group, P&C, Chaplaincy Program, Adopt-a-cop, Reading for Life Community Guests Days and  our Student Leadership Program.

Our programs of distinction include: Instrumental Music, Reading and Writing Programs, Student Leadership and Early Years Learning.
